For questions/comments about Benchmark data please contact Tommy Walters in the Division of Surveying, SJRWMD (twalters@sjrwmd.com, 386-329-4277).

To list Benchmarks, the user can drill-down through Counties and Quad Sheets (Navigate tab). Selecting a County will display the Quad names for that county. Likewise, selecting a Quad will show all Benchmarks in the selected Quad. Typing the name or ID (or part of it) in the associated text boxes will filter the search results.
Selecting a Benchmark from the list will highlight it on the map with a blinking i-tag.

Benchmark Information is displayed in the lower right. The info box can be expanded/collapsed by clicking the up/down arrow.

b) Searching by Section/Township/Range, and Search Radius

On the Search tab the user can search Benchmarks by Section/Township/Range. NOTE: Most of the District’s Townships are negative (South of Jacksonville). If the specified section is found, the map will zoom to it and display the found Benchmarks.
Likewise, Benchmarks can be searched by their proximity to a certain known point (Lat/Long).
Benchmarks can also be searched by “Benchmark ID”. The ID should be entered EXACTLY as it appears on the disc stamping.
2. Navigating the Map
a) Zooming
By clicking and holding the left mouse button, and dragging to the right the map will zoom in.

Likewise, by dragging the cursor to the left the map will zoom out.

The current Map Scale is shown above the top right corner of the map display.
b) Panning
Clicking the arrows on the center North, South, East, and West sides of the map will pan the map in that direction.

Alternatively, the user can right-click any location on the map and then choose Center Here to pan.

c) Previous/Next/Full Extent
The map will relocate to the previous, next or full extent by choosing the appropriate option from the pop-up menu that displays when right-clicking the mouse on the map display.

3. Map Layers/Legend
Select the Map Layers tab to display the available layers. To turn on/off layers by clicking the checkbox, then select Refresh Map. This will redraw the map as well as the legend. Note: Raster layers (DRG’s and DOQ’s) are mutually exclusive, and will only draw below the specified scale.
